Leading Product Management Media and Events Company Acquires the New York Product Conference

Announces Its In-Person Return to Manhattan this November

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Cleveland, OH / New York, NY — August 3, 2021

Product Collective, a fast-growing digital media company headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, announced today the acquisition of the New York Product Conference (NYPC). Attracting hundreds of attendees each year, the NYPC is held at The Times Center in Manhattan. This year, the in-person event takes place on November 11th, making its return after a COVID-forced hiatus in 2020 (a successful virtual event was held in its place attracting over a thousand attendees).

The NYPC has played an important role in serving the New York Product Management community for the past several years — drawing attendees from companies like American Express, Instagram, Warby Parker, Mailchimp, and others. Its upcoming edition features 12 speakers and other interactive sessions, headlined by Scott Belsky — Chief Product Officer of Adobe and author of the bestselling book, The Messy Middle.

“We’re thrilled to complete the acquisition of this important event for New York’s product management community,” said Paul McAvinchey, Product Collective’s Co-Founder. “This is an event that we’ve collaborated with and have even attended in the past, but we’re grateful for the opportunity to partner in an even deeper way and invest even more into this conference in the years to come.”

The NYPC was co-founded by Dan Storms, Ami Stuart, and Brent Tworetzky, and later joined by Seanita Tolliver. “The New York Product Conference has grown each year by investing in the craft of product management, learning from New York’s leading founders and builders, and connecting with each other as a diverse community,” said Brent Tworetzky. “We are delighted to partner with Product Collective and their terrific INDUSTRY platform to continue expanding the NYPC’s reach and impact across the product community.”

Founded in 2015, Product Collective connects, informs, and inspires those building world-class software products, and this acquisition further fuels the growth of the company and the community it serves. Product Collective’s flagship conference, INDUSTRY: The Product Conference is already the world’s premier Software Product Management conference, with thousands attending its past events in North America and Europe.

Beyond its in-person conference series, Product Collective also serves a community of 30,000+ product management professionals in a variety of other ways — including its weekly newsletter, semi-monthly video chat series, industry job board, and virtual conference series. Product Collective’s Co-Founder, Mike Belsito, is also Co-Host of Rocketship.FM, one of the longest-running podcasts for entrepreneurs and product management professionals, which has been featured in the past by Forbes, Entrepreneur, and elsewhere.

Product Collective’s Mike Belsito, Paul McAvinchey, and Rebecca Feliciano all serve as organizers of INDUSTRY: The Product Conference and will serve in a similar capacity for the NYPC while continuing to collaborate with its founding organizers. To complement its team’s efforts, Product Collective has also recently added Scott Schulman as a Strategic Advisor. Schulman’s 20+ years of experience as a media and events executive, including leadership roles at Dow Jones and UBM, gives Product Collective the strategic insights and deep B2B events experience needed to augment its continued growth.
