There are Many Ways to Get Your Product Right

Why all product feedback is not created equal. Feedback from your customers is clearly a crucial part of product development. So why then is it sometimes so difficult to receive and deal with it? According to Mike Belsito, the reality is that not all feedback will be important or relevant. For it to be useful, you must carefully consider the source and your overall product strategy, too.

The right way to ship software. The right way? If only there was one right way to ship software. So don’t expect to learn that from this enlightening article from Jocelyn Goldfein. The truth is that different projects call for different strategies. For example, with free software, your development tactics may be focused primarily on user experience and acquisition. And with high-cost custom software, the focus may be on security and dependability.

Why mobile first is outdated. To not be building software with a mobile-first mindset almost seems like heresy. But if you think about it, are we really likely to give up the ease, enjoyment, and efficiency of using big screens in our lives? Paul Adams of Intercom has argued for years now that we should be thinking about screens, not devices. He even goes so far as to say mobile-only businesses will likely fail. Of course, the hesitation of optimizing for an array of screens and platforms is not the result of stubbornness for many product teams, but lack of budget.
